Why do I photograph? First and foremost, I photograph nature, wildlife, and landscapes (urban or otherwise) because I really like to "get out there" to remote places. Often the more discomforts available, the better! Having a camera in hand makes me search out the details of a scene, or a nuance of behavior, that I may not have otherwise noticed, and this enhances the experience. I have my wonderful parents Larry & Diane and partner Robert to thank for their enduring support of my travel and photography passions, no matter how far-flung the destination or seemingly crazy the pursuit.
Beyond the personal satisfaction, I also feel that there is a pressing need to raise awareness of the remaining great natural places before they disappear forever. In this day and age of globalization and rapid land use, images of unique animals and environments remind us what we stand to lose if no action is taken towards preservation. What would our world be like without any wilderness? We as humans can't afford not to save our last wild places and their biodiversity, and for this reason, 15% of all profits from this site will go to support land and wildlife conservation charities.
